Azoospermia is a medical condition where a man has no sperm in his semen. This can be due to an infection, a blockage in the ducts that drain semen or an inflammation of the reproductive organs.
In ayurveda, this condition is called kapha vata imbalance (KVMI). It causes infertility and causes pain in the lower back, hips, thighs and knees. The body’s organs are congested with stagnant blood. The testicles are swollen and painful, causing reduced production of testosterone. The body may also have weak immune system response causing severe fatigue when exposed to cold weather conditions like wind or snow.
Ayurvedic treatment for azoospermia includes shodhana chikitsa treatment which involves detoxification of the liver by drinking milk thistle seeds and having a diet consisting of lots of fresh fruits and vegetables that provide raw materials for healthy digestion like leafy greens, broccoli, cabbage etc.; eating yogurt with live active cultures; taking probiotics like acidophilus or bifidus; drinking carrot juice twice daily; eating bananas daily; taking cranberry juice daily
